  • MDC Painting provides residential painting and related services, including (but not limited to):
  • Interior painting
  • Exterior painting
  • Wallpaper removal
  • Surface preparation, plastering, and touch-ups

All services are carried out with reasonable care, skill, and professionalism.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time.
  • Quotes are valid for a reasonable period unless stated otherwise.
  • Prices may change if the scope of work changes, unforeseen issues arise (such as hidden damage), or additional work is requested.
  • Any changes to the agreed scope or pricing will be discussed and approved before proceeding.

3. Payment Terms

  • Payment terms will be agreed upon before work begins.
  • Payment is due as outlined on the invoice.
  • Late payments may result in delays to work or additional charges where applicable.

4. Scheduling and Access

  • Clients are responsible for providing reasonable access to the property during agreed work times.
  • Any delays caused by lack of access, weather conditions, or other factors beyond our control may affect timelines.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to communicate any changes to the schedule.

5. Preparation and Client Responsibilities

Unless agreed otherwise, clients are responsible for:

  • Removing or securing personal items, furniture, and valuables
  • Ensuring pets are kept clear of work areas
  • Advising of any known issues that may affect the work

MDC Painting will take reasonable care but is not responsible for pre-existing damage or hidden defects.

6. Workmanship and Materials

  • We use quality products and proven techniques suitable for New Zealand conditions.
  • Natural wear, environmental factors, and existing surface conditions can affect longevity and are not considered workmanship faults.
  • Minor touch-ups may be required as part of normal settling or environmental exposure.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • We ask for reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule work.
  • Cancellations made at short notice may result in a charge to cover time, materials, or scheduling impacts.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law:

  • MDC Painting is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
  • Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
